Koggens Gränd in the Västra Hamnen district of Malmö is home to one of Sweden’s first large-scale residential blocks of owner-occupier apartments.
With the aid of a high level of ambition and long-term solutions, White designed a building that fulfils environmental requirements in line with the highest standard in the industry, Miljöbyggnad Gold. Extensive effort has been devoted to creating a high green space factor, employing green façades, roof terraces, green roofs and a leafy inner courtyard.
Playful style
The building has a coherent and robust appearance, yet at the same time is playful and dynamic; internal variations include ceiling heights of between 2.70 and 4.40 metres. The interior design was a collaboration between White and Input interior.
