ABAX
ABAX’s new head office is housed in a building of great historical and local value dating back to 1874. A space where valuable historical and cultural elements from the premises’ original use have been successfully preserved. These have now been combined with new elements to create an original and future-proof environment.
The older building, originally a mill and warehouse premises, together with a modern extension forms the new head office. Inside the entrance you are greeted by a large, inviting area, two storeys high with large glass panels that let in plenty of daylight and blur the boundary between indoors and out. It provides places to gather, thereby creating a sense of community and boosting motivation, with non-traditional meeting rooms and workplaces, a coffee bar and lounges offering a wide variety of spaces and sensory experiences optimised for creativity and collaboration.
The upper floors provide a mix of activity-based workplaces, co-working areas, meeting rooms, work spaces with an open-plan layout and traditional office cubicles.
Prior to the refurbishment and the relocation to the new premises ABAX undertook a thorough survey of needs, and close dialogue between the client and the interior designers at KB Arkitekter was a feature from the start. The vision was to create innovative premises inspired by Google and LEGO, among others – with a playful interior to please employees and also to reflect the ABAX brand.
All the interior furnishings have a contemporary feel and help to reinforce the sense of identity. Each floor has been given a different theme in the form of a mood, an activity and a colour that reflects ABAX’s core values – Technology, People and Services.
Ole Lennart Kristensen who works at Input interior in Sandefjord was responsible for delivery of all furnishings for the project.
“All the furniture, surfaces and plants have been carefully selected from an environmental perspective and with a focus on the indoor climate, resulting in a sustainable interior that will stand the test of time,” explains Ole Lennart.
