Peder Tell
What year did you join Input interior?
2011.
What are you working on right now?
Just now I am in the process of decorating a conservatory at an office in Gothenburg.
What else do you do on working days?
I hang curtains, as curtain installations are what I deal with at Input interior. But obviously if I am going out to a client I can take along a chair or other small item that they have ordered.
And when you are not at work?
Well, my house is now finished, so I’m helping my daughter with hers. Otherwise I spend time playing innebandy, and I enjoy good food and drink. I like spending time with family and travelling.
What did you do before?
I have been in the interior design sector for a long time. I previously worked as a carpet-fitter and with wooden blinds. In general I have worked a great deal with clients, which I find enjoyable!
How did you end up here?
It was pure chance. I had a friend at Input interior who put my name forward for a job and it went from there. I like the industry and curtains, so it was simply a matter of seizing the opportunity.
Have there been any memorable moments at work?
I would say my London trip. A seamstress and I travelled over to London for work for two days. It was a job in Notting Hill, for a client who runs Elite Plaza Hotels. Some time ago I was in Brussels, doing a trial installation for a job in progress. The travelling is a wonderful break from the everyday; I like that about my job.
What is the hardest thing about your job?
The hardest thing is, well, nothing really… I enjoy challenges as a matter of fact. Putting up an ordinary curtain rail is routine, but it’s great if you also get to be involved in resolving the client’s requirements and problems. I enjoy coming up with solutions!
What’s the best thing about it?
The best thing is the variation and that I get to meet lots of people and see cities in every possible way working for all manner of clients. You do your job and people are pleased, so it’s a really great job in that way. And the client is always our central focus, which I feel is important.
