The project ’Tillsammans’
Following an initiative by Växjö Charity and the Linnéa Dahl Foundation, a brand-new apartment is now ready at Växjö Hospital. An apartment for families with seriously ill children that gives them a place to be together outside the hospital environment.
Unfortunately, children sometimes end up in hospital for a long time. Something that turns everyday life upside down, both for the child itself but also for family and relatives. For this reason, the child and adolescent clinic in Region Kronoberg has long dreamed of being able to give affected families a place to stay.
As a first step, Växjö Charity and the Linnéa Dahl Foundation were contacted to raise the idea of building a family apartment at Växjö Hospital. This was the starting point for the ‘Tillsammans’ project and shortly afterwards Input interior and SAJT Arkitektstudio were involved in the work.
“When we were asked, it was obvious for us to be involved. It has been a privilege to work with the architect and our suppliers to shape the apartment with furniture,” says Emma Johansson, site manager at Input interior in Växjö.
Work to complete the apartment began in the spring and it is now ready to be used by families in need.
“This will hopefully be a place where they can get some breathing space and energy to be able to take one day at a time. Both for those who need it now, but above all for families who so far are blissfully unaware that everyday life can fall apart,” says Sandra Jönsson, project manager at Växjö Charity.
